The Kibber to Dhankar, homestay trek is one of the most popular treks in Spiti. The trail for the homestay trek starts up from the Kibber village and traverses the ridges above the Spiti River. Ending at the Dhankar Monastery, enroute on the Kibber to Dhankar homestay trek we visit the Dhankar lake and this is a rewarding trek in terms of the views experienced all along this route. This trek is ideal for novice and intermediate climbers. One of the highlight of this trek is that the guests stay in the homes of villagers every night and would eat food with the families. The homestay trek is perfect for those who wish to experience traditional life in Spiti which has remained unchanged for centuries. Instead of Dhankar the trek can finish a day later in Gangchumi where a nun has been meditating now for 38 years.
